Princeton, NJ, February 17, 2012 – Architect J. Robert Hillier, the developer of Copperwood, the recently-approved active adult community on Bunn Drive, has announced that the garden surrounding the central piazza of the complex will be named in honor of Eleanor Angoff, a long-time advocate for market-rate senior housing in Princeton.
“For over two decades Eleanor Angoff has pushed for housing that would enable Princetonians to “downsize” from their single-family residences into an independent living community that enabled them to continue to be active members of the Princeton community. That is exactly what Copperwood will accomplish”, said J. Robert Hillier in making the announcement. “When some folks from the Community Without Walls suggested that we honor Ms. Angoff for her efforts, I thought it was a terrific idea.”
Eleanor Angoff has been a life-long resident of Princeton where her husband was an executive at Educational Testing Service. A plaque in her honor will be placed at each side of the central garden at Copperwood. The plaque reads: This garden area is dedicated in honor of Eleanor W. Angoff. Her tireless efforts as a spirited and vocal advocate for senior housing in Princeton ultimately led to the creation and development of Copperwood.
Copperwood is a 153-unit rental community for active adults over 55 years old. It will be built on Bunn Drive within the 200-acre Princeton Ridge Preserve. Construction will begin this Spring with occupancy in the late summer of 2013.

Nassau Tennis Club has flipped the switch on its newly installed solar system at its Skillman, New Jersey tennis center. GeoPeak Energy was chosen to design and install the system, engineering it as one of New Jersey’s highest efficiency solar systems.
The electricity generated from this system is set to eliminate up to 99% of Nassau’s electrical needs from conventional energy sources and allows the facility to operate on clean, renewable solar power.
The solar energy system is comprised of high-efficiency SunPower 318 watt photovoltaic modules, Sharp photovoltaic modules, and SatCon Inverters. With further energy efficiencies, the 15 court facility will qualify as part of GeoPeak Energy’s list of “Zero Emissions Buildings in 2011”.
“We installed this new generation high efficiency photovoltaic system on a single building and supplied electricity for all buildings and outdoor play areas on site” said AJ Javan, Chief Strategy Officer of GeoPeak Energy. “The SunPower high efficiency modules produce up to 50% higher output than conventional solar panels, which, combined with GeoPeak Energy’s engineering and installation, made it possible to nearly eliminate Nassau Tennis’s dependence on conventional electricity”.
Nassau Tennis has also taken advantage of the GeoPeak Energy Alliance Program, which offers members and employees of the club a discounted solar installation cost, priority service, and additional financial incentives for them to install a solar energy system on their home or business.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, December 16 at the club, and featured Skillman township Mayor and newly elected New Jersey Freeholder Mark Caliguire.
Saint Peter’s Urgent Care Center opened its doors on Thursday, January 8 in the Village Shopper III Shopping Center in Skilllman, NJ.
The idea came to open an Urgent Care Center in Skillman when the Princeton Hospital moved onto the other side of Route 1. Skillman felt a void in healthcare and approached Saint Peter’s hospital with the idea of opening an Urgent Care Center to provide better medical assistance to the community.
“We are really excited about it,” says Frank DiSanzo, CIO, Chief of Strategy of Saint Peter’s Hospital, “it’s the first Urgent Care Center that Saint Peter’s has opened.”
The Urgent Care Center treats adults and children and is a great first place stop for cuts, bruises, basic radiology, and stitches. “There is a receptionist, laboratory technician, a physician, and a nurse” states DiSanzo, “All physicians are board certified in emergency medicine and there are 4 exam rooms currently open.” And while the center isn’t designed to completely replace a hospital, it is a good choice as a first stop before proceeding to the hospital to stabilize before the longer trip across Route 1. DiSanzo also pointed out that the amount of doctors and nurses on staff would increase if the amount of patients increased.
In the center’s opening weekend, it saw around 15 people per day, says DiSanzo, with cases ranging from bruises to more serious matters. “Our goal is to provide affordable and sufficient care and a higher quality and level of service.” states DiSanzo. Saint Peter’s Hospital follows the mission of the Diocese of Metuchen, which follows that when there’s a need for care, it is their duty to try to be there to fill the void explains DiSanzo.
The Urgent Care Center is open 8 am - 8 pm, Monday - Friday, and 10 am - 6 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The center will uphold the same standards as Saint Peter’s Hospital; providing prompt service and the same level of treatment
